I have been rping for lots of years and i have been OP on lots of server's.
I have been OP on 3 server's.
Admin on 3 server's.
And i hope to be OP on your server, i will not abuse OP, i dont think i will be accepted but i did my best.
I would say am Ok at RP but sometimes am not.
Here is how i would deal with stuff:
Metagaming: Since meta-gaming is generally unfair, but not too severe unless somebody actually uses the meta game to their advantage, I would let the person off with 1-2 fair warnings then a kick, and possibly a ban that can last for UP TO a day, depending on the severity. I would also make sure nobody with the meta-information uses it. (Example: John: // Hey Josh, where are you at? Josh: // At the rations booth. I would step in at that point and go to John's location first saying he isn't allowed to go there because that is meta-gaming then I would go to Josh's and say that is meta-gaming, and if they do not know I would carefully explain it to them and let them off with a fair warning and not let them meet there for 5 minutes or such.
Powergaming: Power gaming is pretty unfair and annoying as fuck. Believe me, I've been there as a Vortigaunt once with retarded CPs... Anyways, how I would handle the situation is tp to the offender and tell them that you need to let the other side react first otherwise it would be powergaming. IF they do not know what it means I would it explain it to them slowly and carefully, let em' off with a warning, then bring the side that was powergamed there and let them restart that rp with me as a referee. If the offense continues, one more warning, then a kick, and if it still continues, a possible up to day ban depending on severity.
Mingepunching: Usually it's troll doing this, but I wouldn't immediately ban em'. I would tp them to my location and freeze them if I could. Then I would ask why are you randomly punching people without rp? Then wait for their response. Depending on the response I will react. If they say something like "wtf abusive admin!11" I would explain to them this is a serious rp and similar to other semi-serious game-modes, you cannot randomly attack people, and without roleplay. Then I would explain to them the /me system if needed, if not, tell them this is his/her's first warning. If it's just a troll who continues and won't listen to any staff and is just generally griefing, screen shot him, ban him for a day. (Screen shot for confirmation in case he tried to troll me on the forums saying abusive admin and shit. And if he comes again, I will re-ban him for a day then ask higher-ranked staff for a possible perma-ban.
FailRP: FailRP is a simple rule. Roleplay. Realism. Could you do that? Is it possible. Etc. Here's an example of an offense: Some minge-runner just runs around a CP calling him a fag 24/7. Although it's not sevre, I would just tp him to or tp to him and bring the CP involved and ask the CP for his side of the story. He would probably respond as you think saying just running around like a retard calling me a fag. Then I would ask him what happened and he would probably say something like I was just rping or some shit. Then I would explain to him that realistically, AND HL2 wise, would you, or any citizen run around a CP constantly calling him a fag? That's just suicide and it's not allowed to make characters JUST to do that. I would just let him off with one warning, then give him a second if he does it again, then kick him third time. He comes back and does it again and trolls, most likely just a three hour ban. And ask high-ranked staff for permission to lengthen it if it continues with the individual.
